Tatung's Garden Cafe

"Everyone can build a good restaurant but the best restaurant can only be built by a great Chef"

One of the best and beautiful restaurants I've been in Quezon City is the Tatung's Garden Cafe and I want to visit the place again and again. When I say best, meaning it meets my expectations and my love for art and nature can be found there.

A very nice three-year old restaurant at Sikatuna Village in Quezon City is making its name in the industry of best restaurant in the metro. Tatung's Garden Cafe offers good Filipino food with extra ordinary flavors, serving traditional delicacies in modern way. Pure Filipino flavors from the north all the way down to the south, from Pukipuki of Ilocos to Adobong Bisaya from visayas region and a lot more.

Food Trip IN and OUTside Meto Manila

FOOD TRIP IN and OUTside the metro. From regular dining to Boodle Fighting.

There are lots of good and affordable restaurants here in metro manila and one of these is The Savory  a resto where chicken, chopsuey and the Lechon macau are their best for me.

Savory Chicken, for me the secret is not the sauce it's the chicken itself. I like how it tastes and the flavour is there, I prefer eating it with soy sauce and Citrus fruit
 (Calamansi).

Chopsuey is the best for me, the crunchiness and the sweetness of the fresh vegetables are always present, so yummy!

Obey your thirst!

One Orchard Road

A quite restaurant situated at busiest commercial building with perfect ambiance called One Orchard Road, remember this is not in Singapore but it's exactly located at the second floor of SM Mega mall in Mandaluyong City.

My friend Jenny treated me to a dinner here,  since it was my first time, so my eyes was in a bit search for something NEW and UNIQUE  and here's what I got. It is  like the colors represents the different enticing flavors  and the arrangement of the place is telling you to come back and dine again.

One thing I love from this resto is they have the strongest wifi ever! Perfect for hungry internet people like me.

The New Quezon City Memorial Circle

Eat, Shop, Amuse and Stroll

We've just obeyed our thirst of indulgence while amusing ourselves strolling along Quezon City Memorial Circle.

December 30, 2011 a night before New Year's Eve, My friend and I experienced this super extraordinary bonding with the enticing mixed street  and home made foods like Isaw, Barbeque, Siomai, Maki, Puto Bumbong, and a lot more.

While waiting for the 20 minutes firework show we've decided do some window shopping at the Tiangge from stall to stall but food tripping  is our main objective funny isn't it? It's like a night market in Bangkok with sections for foods and dry goods.

My friend Dang Rapio's enjoying her food trips and scouting nice shirts

Our so-called friends and stars of the night

Mingling with the savory street foods was awesome!

I believe we were just lucky then, we didn't experience the rides we just let the other kids to do their part.

The best thing about Quezon City Memorial Circle is the "cleanliness", the place is new and fresh! A good environment  for family and no longer for dark business as we often heard before. Proud to say it is now more fun in Quezon City Memorial Circle.

Seafood Island Cubao

Turn your ordinary dinner into a festive style dining with friends at Seafood Island in Araneta Center, Cubao.

As a hungry buddies, my friends and I hunted some restaurants that can fill our stomach with delicious and something unique in serving. We've decided to dine-in here at Seafood Island and try one of their boodle sets, the group agreed to get the "Kanyaman"  a mouthwatering  set of Tahong, bangus, Bagoong Rice, kangkong, Hipon, Talong, Okra and Lechong Kawali.

I've been here before, nothing much to say about the place aside from it's comfortable, accessible and unique. You don't have to spend more to go to a certain place that serves authentic seafood all you have to do is to go to a place that can satisfy your food trip.

As usual if the foods are great, what else do you expect?

50's Diner: My Super Burger Encounter

50's Diner Baguio City . My Super Burger encounter

A simple Lunch and get-together with my friends at 50's Diner in Baguio City. One night before the bonding time, my friend asked me if I love burger, then I said YES without blinking my eyes because I really wanna see what's 50's Diner is.

The restaurant isn't that huge, but they can accommodate for approximately 60 to 100 heads per dining. I can see people waiting outside for their turn to get in.  We were seven then so we didn't wait for our turn for so long. I was seated near the counter area because I was trying to figure out the design of the place  from the kitchen all the way to the doorway and I got it right what was puzzling on my head. Their wall filled with photos/poster  of the1950's popular singers, like Elvies Presley, Marilyn Monroe and more.

The photos below shows how great encounter it was during our get-together at the said restaurant.

My Juicy Giant Burger. So Yummy. So Delicious!!!

My friends Ralph and Byd amazingly doing their 3 kinds of acting in front of their giant sandwiches.

The table is complete with happy friends and perfect food.

Bed and Breakfast

What comes to your mind when you hear Tagaytay? Maybe the View of Taal Volcano and lake, The Peoples Park, Tagaytay Highland, Señoritas, Pineapple and etc and etc., well for me it's all about Bed and Breakfast.

In the rolling hills with lush green and colorful flowery ornamental plants, far from the busy city, where birds and butterflies freely flies lies  the House and Garden of Sonya called Sonya's Garden Bed and Breakfast. A typical Filipino house offers only the best Filipino and Western food and serves organic rice and fresh farm fruits like mangoes, pineapple and a lot more.

Last year my friends and I visited the place and had our breakfast at 7, it was like my ordinary morning turns into fairytale having breakfast together with Peter Pan and friends in the middle of the Neverland Garden, Can you imagine that?

"All the Bed and Breakfast cottages are named after herbs, which, like her garden, reflect Sonya’s love for aromatic things. Inspired by her simple country lifestyle, the Bed and Breakfast facility was born out of insistent pleas from guests to stay awhile longer in Sonya’s private sanctuary. In the short time that it has been open to the public, many have already vowed to return for a myriad of simple joys, like waking up to the smell of flowers, languishing in bed from last night’s soothing massage, contemplating in the undisturbed solitude that surrounds each cottage, relaxing by the charming bay windows that opens into a view of nature in its entire splendor, the warm hospitality of Sonya and her staff—and other delightful discoveries that has made a stay at the B&B a unique experience for every person."
Sonya's Garden not only offers good food but also a good stay, for those who are planning to escape and get lost from the noisy world for quite sometimes or for a day or two then Sonya's Garden Garden in Tagaytay is waiting for you. The place to relax, the place to replenish your tired body and soul.

Going home with big smile,  See you again Sonya's Garden

Odori-don

Are there any Japanese restaurants here in Manila that serves Odori-don?
I find this dish a bit off, (Inhumane)  but for the Japanese  it's just part of their daily servings.

Koreans also has almost the same dish the only difference is they serve live Squid yay.

By the way I got this image "gif" via google+

This Japanese seafood dish is called Odori-don  and consists of salmon, seaweed and caviar - topped off with squid. The squid is recently dead, and when soy sauce is applied to the squid, its neurons are activated, causing it to wiggle and dance.
This is done to show how fresh it is at the table as a sign of luxury.
Japanese don’t consider this inhumane or cruel (as perhaps Westerners would assume), but it’s far more interesting than a twitching slab of cow

According to wkrg.com (see explanation)  The energy lies within ions contained in the sauce's high sodium content. These ions are used in cells to create voltage differences. Because the squid is served fresh, the cells inside are still active and when the sodium is applied, the signals across the nerve cell membranes are temporarily reactivated causing the squid to "dance."

COAL Restaurant

What will the food lovers expects from COAL a restaurant that will be flaming soon  this 2011 at Green Field District in Mandaluyong City, located in the vicinity of Edsa Central. The restaurant is located literally besides the greeny-field   on the ground floor of the building  that houses hundreds of BPO staffs and shopping stores where people "SPENDING" are part of their hobbies.

The Place is quite nice can you imagine having a dinner with your loved ones or friends in front of the green field? hmmm that sounds awesome! Not only that, if you're running out of cash throw your worries away, there's a teller machine few steps away to cater you pocket's needs.

But there's this only one thing I observed, they don't have parking space. That's a bit challenging for food fanatics  with wheels wanting to reach to try something flaming. But what is the essence of " IF THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY" if you can't get what you want.

Let's find out this 2011 how the COAL ignites for the  Hungry Stomachs.

Top 5 - 5star restaurant in Metro Manila

Top 5 - 5star restaurant in Metro Manila according to "Nile Guide" Manila

 RED

You can't go wrong with Red; this restaurant-cum-bar is simply too stylish. Impressive food presentation and impeccable preparations are the hallmarks of this unique restaurant. The service is efficient; you don't have to wait too long for your order. Don't leave without trying The Red Appetizer Three Ways. The dessert and wine list do justice to the hype. This is truly a gem in Makati Shangri-La's hat.
TIVOLI
The Tivoli is a beautiful and luxurious restaurant located at the Mandarin Oriental in Manila. The elegant interiors complete with shining mirrors and trellises add an extra vibrancy to the space. While at The Tivoli, try out Creamy Lobster bisque, Braised black wagyu cheeks and Mille-feuille of pan-fried sea bass. The intimate alcove is a great spot for those looking for privacy during romantic dinners. Month ending Fridays turn out to be a dining extravaganza with seven meal courses and an unlimited supply of wines.

 PAPARAZZI

Frequented by the beautiful people of Mandaluyong, this restaurant offers local paparazzi a wealth of material to use. Aside from the outstanding cuisine people come here for another reason - to see and be seen. Using imported ingredients, the Italian chef whips up such delectable dishes as risotto with king prawns, linguini with clams, and roast lamb wrapped in crispy Parma ham. The tiramisu is a sheer delight. The predominantly black and white decor is accented with copper tints, wood surfaces, and wicker furniture.

 SHANG PALACE

This is the perfect place for a dim sum lunch or a Chinese banquet dinner. The room itself is hotel elegant, with large round tables perfect for feasting with friends and family, banquettes for those wanting a bit more privacy, and private rooms for those wanting to feel they are in their own living room. If you go for lunch make sure to taste every dim sum item on the menu, and if there for dinner, well, you cant leave without trying their Peking duck.
INAGIKU
Inagiku is a fine Japanese restaurant located at the Makati Shangri-La in Manila. The atmosphere at Inagiku is absolutely fantastic, with minimalistic wooden furnishings and bold colors, that resemble a modern Japanese eating joint. Start of with some excellent appetizers such as Shiitake Ebi Nikutsume or Zensai Moriawase. For the main course try out the excellent Teppanyaki Live Lobster and if you still have room for dessert go for the Homemade ice cream.
