According to Mines and Geosciences Bureau, the Philippine mining industry contributed ₱102.3 billion to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020 despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Si Sen. Ping, given na 50 years in public service halatang gamay na gamay niya ang kalakaran pagdating sa ganyan.

Si BBM naman may malawak talaga na pagiisip lalo na sa pros and cons ng open-pit mining. May balanceng programa between the investors and the people.

------

Note:  may alam din ako konti sa mining/quarry because I've been doing research and talking to some quarry owners since November 2021. In fact, this photo was taken by your's truly somewhere in North 😉

Adobe Illustrator: Art from the heart

From the artsy patootsy of my heart, where vector is an art. As I traced back my youngest years in Adobe it all boils down to the year when I started loving adobe Illustrator at MAVCOMM. 2005, my mentor Sir Wally Gozar patiently invested and introduced Adobe to his staff and I was one of the luckiest creature who benefited from all the Adobe bibles and software he acquired for his company.

I clearly recall that one afternoon at New city restaurant when I first read the PDF manual which I first thought na "PDF lang yan", then the following week Mr. Wally decided to buy adobe package because I think He saw something in me, something that I am capable of. Then low and behold to make the long story short, I became an artist by heart. I even took the Adobe Certified Expert Exams. Ai is my first love, 2nd is Photoshop, 3rd is InDesign then Premier. From then on, I started creating award-winning cover designs (of course through the direction of Mr. Gozar) for our clients, executed Tourism Authority of Thailand print Ads and a lot more until I switched to offset printing then slowly converted myself to showbiz (char) then to corporate.
I somehow left the artist's table 4 or 5 years ago but never forget my passion in creating such things that makes my heart cheerfully beats.

I was like eating alone in the crazy dark room helpless but for me to survive I have to do something and make my "diskarte" (Strategy) to make my stomach full. That I'm sure applies on the lives of these blind people who are struggling day by day.

Thanks to our talented  singers from the Philippine National School for the Blind for rendering their voices, for being our flashlights for a moment.

The event was hosted by Asia Plantation Capital Philippines’ Country Manager, Dallaz Eure, and presented by financial investment advisor, speaker and author, Joel Barretto, with special guests, Asia Plantation Capital Group CEO, Barry Rawlinson and, Asia Plantation Capital’s Regional Training and Development Manager, Gilbert Haygele.

Asia Plantation Capital’s entry into the Philippines represents a very significant opportunity for economic revitalisation in the country - from the planting of Aquilaria trees in denuded forests and help in the prevention of flooding, all the way through to providing employment opportunities amongst locals living in and around the plantations. APC’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond the employment of personnel on plantations, however. The company also allows, and indeed encourages its employees to supplement their income by facilitating the planting of vegetables and other crops on the plantations themselves. The company also offers housing, medical care and education for their employees’ children.

Promoting sustainability, renewability and social responsibility, Asia Plantation Capital is exploring the expansion of its operations in the Philippines to further address the increasing global demand for agarwood chips, powder and 100% pure, organic Oud oil – produced from certain species of the Aquilaria tree that are currently under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) protection.

With the help of its innovative agro technology, the company has sprouted up across the globe in a relatively short space of time. Having operated privately since 2002 and being established officially in 2008, it has sold more than USD200 million of trees to date, with zero bank debt. APC now has offices in 17 countries around the world, including China, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Kenya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, not to mention the SAR of Hong Kong. The company will shortly be setting up its operations in the Philippines.

What could be more satisfying than  having a complete relaxing luxurious business stay at the heart of Davao?

Homey Feeling: The most welcoming feeling when in  Davao.
As  part  of my perks being a business event organizer, I was given the chance to experience a cozy stay at the Marco Polo hotel for the second time around. It was just a so-so feeling until we reached the main entrance of the hotel,  Ms. Dottie and her staff are probably one of the most  awesome people on planet, welcoming us with smiles and hugs then handed each of us an envelopes containing personalized greeting card, welcome letter and key card,  after few minutes of hi and hellos we were told that we can already proceed to our room. All I thought the welcoming feeling has just ended there until I realized that the  moment we left the lobby and reached our designated room is just the beginning of our grandiose stay.

Aha and wow moment
As I opened the door, the first thing that caught my attention are fruit platter, red wine and slices of malagos cheese with welcome card saying welcome to Marco Polo,  Lance. So, to really totally welcome myself with a taste of Davao, I messaged my friend Ms. Carmie De Leon(VP Sales and Marketing of Healthway) from other room confirming if the wine is free then she answered me with sweetest word FREE, mandated by the rule of Love coming from the Sales Director, Ms. Pearl Maclang. Then the beautous afternoon started with fireworks in my head while enjoying every sip of red wine, contemplating, standing close to the window panes, appreciating the beauty and calmness of the nearby island and  the captivating sounds of the distant traffic, oh so tranquil and at peace.

The beauty of the people
On the next day right after our breakfast, I had the chance to talk to Ms. Chel Galang, the very hands on F&B manager, she's one of the awesome hotel personnel I've met, as we exchange thoughts and views, she was able to share  her journey, her life and her passion as hotel lover not as guest but as simple individual working there. Thank you for your time Ms. Galang, til we meet again.

All the hotel staff are great and very pleasing and attentive to our needs all the time.

I am giving my 5 stars rate to Marco Polo Davao, to its people and services. Daghang salamat!

Life is a beautiful journey,  we will meet  a lot of people, it's just up to us if we want to learn from them or not but the most important thing is, cherish all the beautiful things as often and as much as we can and everything will be beautiful as well.
