Rotary Club of Makati Century City: Mission Possible 5.0

Amidst  the crazy weather made by tropical depression Josie in Metro Manila last July 24, 2018,  the Rotary Club of Makati Century City (RCMCC) members still flew to Davao and landed with flaring excitementsto extend a hand to the needy brethrens in some areas where helps are needed.
The mission started at the Badjao cummunity in Playa, Matina where  some hundreds of Badjao kids were able to receive oral kits and partake nutritous meals prepared by the group.

The mission wasn’t end only there,  on the cold beautous morning of July 26th, on the third leg,  the group woke up in the hilly side of Davao near the border of Bukidnon and Cotabato where the Matigsulog Tribe lives. Themorning was fueled up by a hand over of gifts  to the tribes then tree planting, followed by the momentous signing of Memorandum of Agreement for the “Adopt a Tribe” in partnership with Blugre Corporation and  IWC-Metro Premiere.

Indeed, no destination is to far from your home or too high from the level of your comfort zone if the acts  are worth the happiness of the needy souls. No mission is impossible if it is well collaborated and planned wherever you may be.

Blind Date: A Must Attend Dinner in the Dark on August 21, 2018

What could be more difficult in life than living in a world without a single chance to see faces and places of what the world is offering to everyone? Being physically blind,  right?

But what could be more meaningful in life if we can be at ones be their (blinds)  flashlight for a day that will shine their lives for a lifetime?

James Mackay Foundation Inc. has been a great platform to collaborate with the Club to showcase the genuine giveback projects. This coming August 21 2018 in partnership with JMF and Rotary Club Makati Century City, they will have Dinner in the Dark 'Blind Date'. This event is an experience of a lifetime where one with sight will be blindfolded and will have a meal without seeing the plate. They encourage everyone to feel this event for it creates a feeling of humbleness and contentment.

The Rotary Club of Makati Century City conducted a dry run for more than 15 minutes at the Elks Club last August 7th and the outcome was heart-breaking, I personally experienced it first hand, it was a mixed emotions between frustrations and  hopeful. I was like eating alone in the crazy dark room helpless but for me to survive I have to do something and make my "diskarte" (Strategy) to make my stomach full. That I'm sure applies on the lives of these blind people who are struggling day by day.

Thanks to our talented  singers from the Philippine National School for the Blind for rendering their voices, for being our flashlights for a moment.

The Blind Date is an #AdvocacyForTheBlind, we will be having a "literal" BLIND DATE wherein you will experience having dinner while your eyes are blindfolded. Ticket price is Php1,250 and proceeds will go to the Philippine National School for the Blind. For tickets, you may contact the Rotary Club of Makati Century City on FB  or leave your message on the message bellow.
